Andrew is an ecologist with broad experience in natural resource management. He has worked in Africa and Latin America in biodiversity conservation, ecological research, and community based tourism, sustainable aquaculture and ecological design. His recent work has looked into the environmental and social implications of the biofuels industry within Tanzania for WWF.

His experience is divided between livelihoods/conservation work and communications. Andrew has carried out ecological and social surveys, livelihood assessments, managed staff, budgets and project activities in community eco tourism management and has considerable report writing experience.

His communications experience includes press relations, awareness raising, fundraising, teaching and environmental education, and organising and convening workshops. Andrew is also an experienced communicator with experience gathering information for radio broadcast and written media. He was recently involved in the production of an award-nominated BBC Radio 4 documentary, Sounding Post.

Andrew has a solid foundation in community based natural resources management and ecological based enterprises having worked for, amongst others, the the Mpingo Conservation Project, several Latin American ecotourism specialist operations and the Charles Darwin Research Station in the Galapagos Islands.

Andrew holds a BSc. in Zoology from University College London and an MSc. in Applied Ecology and Conservation from the University of East Anglia. For his MSc thesis he carried out an analysis of hunting among the Secoya indigenous group in the Ecuadorian Amazon analysing how land tenure and changes in land use may have caused a reduction in hunting yields.
