Charlotte has been an associate consultant
for Kilimanyika since April 2009. During
this time she has contributed to the management,
coordination, communication, research and
report writing for various projects with
clients such as WWF, CARE and IUCN. These
projects have centred on issues such as
community-based natural resource management,
alternative income generation, communication
mechanisms, protected areas planning, Reduced
Emissions from Deforestation and Forest
Degradation (REDD), and improvements in
coastal livelihoods.

Prior to her work with Kilimanyika, Charlotte
worked with GRM International in Washington,
DC. There she provided research and administrative
assistance for a wide variety of development
projects ensuring sustainable approaches
to challenges in agriculture, conservation,
business development, education, and democracy
and governance. She has also worked for
Development & Training Services Ltd (dTS)
strengthening the role and impact of gender
in development assistance around the world.
She is currently based in Kenya,
where she has also spearheaded a small business
initiative through World Corps, which aims
to empower small tea farmers to sustainably
increase their exports.
Charlotte is keen to identify practical
and innovative alternatives for local communities
which will both increase their incomes as
well as decrease the pressure put on the
environment.
Charlotte currently holds a BA in International
Affairs, with a specialization in International
Economics, from the George Washington University
in Washington, DC. She is a California native
with an intermediate knowledge of Spanish
and French, and working knowledge of Vietnamese
and Swahili. |
