Neil Bridgland, BA, MA, has multi-disciplinary experience of both the NGO and commercial sectors with expertise that includes sustainable and community based forestry management, forest certification, sustainable value chains, social enterprise development, corporate partnerships, event, campaign, communications and fundraising management and digital marketing.
After spending a year travelling and working as a volunteer on conservation projects in Southern and Eastern Africa, Neil put a business degree to good use over a 10 year period working in various event, fundraising, communications and marketing management roles for the UK charity, Save the Rhino International.
Working freelance since 2005, Neil has provided specialist event, fundraising, communications and marketing consultancy support for various organisations including The Royal Norwegian Embassy, The Greater Virunga Transboundary Collaboration and The Gorilla Organization.
Since 2007, he has also played a central role in the development of Sound and Fair, an international sustainable value chain campaign based on ethically-traded, FSC 100% wood from community-managed natural forests in Tanzania. Sound and Fair has recently been established as timber trading social enterprise with all revenue surpluses dedicated to expanding community-based forestry management in Africa.
Neil was also involved with the establishment of Goallover Dotorg, a UK Community Interest Company created to develop online fundraising opportunities for a range of high profile UK charities in partnership with Goallover Ltd, a digital marketing agency.
Neil holds an MA in Environment and Development from Kings College London, a BA in Business from London Guildhall University and has recently completed a NEPCon FSC Forest Management and Chain of Custody Lead Auditor training course.
